Citizen Sam

Well call me Citizen Sam now, the mayor of our small banana republic just appointed me to the Ad Hoc Bay Area Task Force. I told my wife Lori it was more appropriate as the Bay & Bait Committee, but she said to chill and not make no waves. Heck she’s right, there aren’t even any pisser clams like up in the Northeast. But there’s plenty to do and I’ll let y’all know what shakes. [Note: those kind of clams are called "steamers" and that is an ancient Yankee term for them.] Not bad for being here only three weeks, eh? Moving, a hurricane, and now this: life is good. I'll get a haircut and meet some folks and see what good I can try to do.

Congratulations, sir. I can't think of a more deserving person to receive that respect in such a short time as a resident. Way to go! Talk soon, Mike Leahy

Thanks, Anon, I've already been warned that this committee has had quite a tumultuous history, so the first thing I'm want to do it to be quiet and learn all I can about the issues. An education of sorts. Naturally, I wouldn't be able to project the goofy Blog persona I have going on here: those are two different things. It might be more like "Silent Sam" for a little while ...

Hah, how about some Louisiana backwoods music like Boozoo Chavez? I appreciate the message. Things seem good, like money coming in the mail - or it least it isn't all bills & trash. Also got a letter from the Director of the Port of Los Angeles for some major work we did for the Mayor out there ... a nice, glowing letter of "personal acknowledgement." Hoo-yah!
